\u00c9cole de langues La Cit\u00e9 has been offering language training in both of Canada\u2019s official languages for 40 years. We provide language training to employees of federal and provincial governments, Crown corporations and private companies.<\/strong><\/p>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner type=”full_width”][vc_column_inner el_class=”pLeft” width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]With the dual objective of improving personal skills and obtaining or renewing a language profile assigned by the Public Service Commission, we mainly use the Programme de fran\u00e7ais langue seconde<\/em> (PFL2) levels A, B and C for training in French and the Communicative English at Work Program (CEWP) A-B (Interface Canada) and C (Interaction Canada) for training in English.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner el_class=”pRight” width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Group<\/strong> Training<\/h5>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner type=”full_width”][vc_column_inner el_class=”pLeft” width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]To maintain a reasonable speaking time for each learner, we create groups of 2 to 10 learners. This training can be offered on a full-time or part-time basis depending on learner availability as well as the objectives defined by the organization and by the learners themselves. Group training can be provided in our offices in Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto, in major Canadian cities or on your premises.

Using a placement test system, we create homogeneous groups to maximize your chances of success.<\/p>\n

The duration of the training is established according to the starting level as well as the linguistic objective to be reached.<\/p>\n

Individual<\/strong> Training<\/h5>\n

This can mean a full-time or part-time schedule, with a single teacher or a team of teachers. Supported by a pedagogical advisor, our teachers consider their learners\u2019 workplace needs, their personal needs, their second-language skills, and their learning pace to set up a personalized program to maximize their chances of success.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Individual training can take place in our offices in Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto, in major Canadian cities or on your premises.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner el_class=”pRight” width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

    We assess all new candidates to determine the best entry point into the program.<\/p>\n

    Online\u00a0<\/strong>Training<\/h5>\n

    [\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner type=”full_width”][vc_column_inner el_class=”pLeft” width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]We offer Individual and Group training online to continue to meet the changing needs of our clients. This allows us to accept training requests from across Canada. We have libraries of virtual resources adapted to the different language teaching programs we use.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner el_class=”pRight” width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

    Our teams are trained for using online platforms such as Zoom and\/or Microsoft Teams and can adapt to other platforms to meet the requirements of each company or department.<\/p>\n

    Placement<\/strong> Tests<\/h5>\n

    [\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Our placement process is based on the CEWP and PFL2 competency criteria. There are two stages:[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner type=”full_width”][vc_column_inner el_class=”pLeft” width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

      \n
    • A speaking placement test in the form of a 10-to-50-minute interactive interview in person, over the phone or by videoconference. This is used to establish an entry point into the program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • A written placement test (multiple choice) is administered online to facilitate the process for candidates who can take this test at their convenience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
